Master Bathroom Moodboard
The Before
From the day we first walked through this house 3 years ago, we have been planning this master bathroom renovation. This house was built with a laundry closet instead of a laundry room which just isn’t enough space for our family. We are constantly tripping over laundry baskets on the way to our bedroom and there is always laundry sitting in the hallway. By getting rid of the old corner tub in the master bathroom and moving the shower out of the toilet room we can easily get the space for an actual laundry room instead of a closet.
Master Bathroom Moodboard
Paint: $40 I didn’t want the bathroom to feel sterile so Greek Villa in Eggshell was the perfect creamy white to keep things light and airy while still feeling warm and inviting. I don’t like the toxic chemicals that paint introduces into your home, so I love that Sherwin Williams offers a Zero VOC option!
Mirror: $261 You can never have too much storage in the bathroom and with our toddlers running around, we needed a place to store things that could be dangerous for them to get into (like our pills!). I was battling internally with the desire for a medicine cabinet vs. getting to choose a beautiful bathroom mirror when I came across this mirror that is both! And it can also be installed recesses into the wall so that it doesn’t even look like a medicine cabinet. Sold.
Sconces: $43 I really wanted to try sconces on either side of the mirror instead of a single light above the mirror. Since sconces light your face more directly they give you better lighting than an overhead light.
Towel Ring: $28 A mounted towel ring frees up counter space.
Vanities: $1,020 I wanted a vanity with lots of drawers to make it easier to keep our bathroom organized. I was looking for a warm grey to compliment the greys in the marble-look floor and wall tile.
Faucet: $232 This faucet was giving me major cottage vibes. While I love the look of the double handle faucets, I prefer faucets with a single handle so that you don’t have to use two hands or use turn two knobs to get water that is the right temperature.
Drawer Pulls: $17 Adding warmth to the room with lots of brass. These drawer pulls are perfect for a vanity with pre-drilled holes because they can be adjusted to fit various distances.
Knobs: $14 Needed a knob that matched the color and style of the other brass in the room and this one felt right.
Rug: $20 The texture of this rug makes it so comfortable to stand on! I love that it adds more warmth to the space.
Shower Head: $230 We love having a sprayer in the shower for spraying down kids.
Floor & Wall Tile: $7/sq.ft While I love the look of real marble, it can be a pain to keep clean with all the moisture in the bathroom. This porcelain tile gives the beauty of marble tile without maintenance. I love the creamy golden brown/grey undertones in it.
Shower Shelves: $60 This type of shelf is much easier to install than a tiled shelf and I love the holes that help keep things dry.
Shower Bench: $70 We debated between a built-in bench vs. a moveable bench. We liked the flexibility of a movable bench to sit anywhere you want in the shower or to be able to remove it completely for additional space.
Shower Floor Tile: $1.50/sq.ft Using a smaller tile for the shower floor makes things less slippery. The hexagon shape ties into our entryway and kitchen backsplash. I also love the look of pebble stones so we almost went with that, but then I started reading horror stories about keeping them clean so we opted for this instead and I love it!
