Inspiration I’m Looking at for Our Laundry Room

We’ve been planning this project since we moved in almost 4 years ago. We actually love the location of our laundry room. It’s nestled between the master suite and two upstairs bedrooms. But there is a major problem with the space - it’s just a closet!

Almost immediately after moving in, we took off the closet doors because they always seemed to be in the way. And without floor space in the laundry room, our hampers and clothes were always strewn through the hallway. Our little laundry closet was far too small for our family of 3 and then 4. We planned to move the shower and remodel the master bathroom to make way for a larger laundry room but we knew it would be expensive and time-consuming.

We started renovating the master bathroom/laundry room on Oct 19, 2022 and finished moving walls around pretty quickly. More about that project here. But I haven’t spent much design time on our laundry room in the year since we started. With our master bathroom project coming to an end, it’s time to work on the finishes for the laundryroom.

The Before

This room sees A LOT of us with our unending mounds of laundry. I want it to feel like a cozy, warm, dainty, beautiful place to spend time. I’d also like to make some improvements to our organization.

I love the idea of floral wallpaper and brass finishes.

If I’m brave enough, I love the idea of incorporating some greens.

Board and batten would add texture and tie in nicely with our front entryway.

Love the moodiness here. Since our laundry is an interior room with no windows I’m not sure this would work for us, but beautiful. I like the idea of using floral wallpaper in a frame instead of across the whole wall.

Now a laundry room, but I love this wallpaper and the dark green.
