Our Playroom Tour

Toy Storage

We use the Ikea Trofast Bins for our toy storage. We love the frosty clear bins that make it easy to see what is in each drawer, but not so clear that it looks messy. The different size bins makes it easy to keep toys organized. Oak can put away a messy playroom all by himself because he knows where everything goes.

Arts and Crafts Center

We use the Ikea pegboard system for keeping our arts and crafts stuff organized. I keep the messier stuff like paint and stamps up high since I want my kids to have supervision when they use this stuff, but I love that the kids can still see that it’s an option. I think that it gets used more than when it was hidden away in a closet. Oak loves being able to grab a workbook whenever he feels like it.

We use the Melissa and Doug daily calendar (although we don’t update it every day.).

Reading Corner

We actually use the Ikea spice shelves for our books and rotate what’s on display here. Ikea also sells a book shelf that is very similar to the spice shelf, just longer.

Gallery Wall

We rotate what’s on display here with the kid’s most recent works.

The Whole Picture

Our Playroom is about 9ft x 15ft.
